How to apply
You need to complete an application pack, which you can request by email or telephone us on 0800 633 5500. You can also call in at one of our offices.
Registration
The first step in getting a new home is to join Willow Park’s housing register. When you do we’ll send you a pack with an application form and information about applying for a home. If you are not already a Willow Park tenant, you will be asked to provide 2 references from people who think you are a good tenant and neighbour. If you are a current tenant or have had a previous tenancy, we will require a reference to be completed by your current/previous landlord.
If you need help filling in the application form, just phone Customer Services and ask for the Homechoice Team.
At the registration interview our Homechoice Officer will:
- Review your application form
- Tell you your priority group
- Advise you of waiting times
- Tell you about the Starter Tenancy conditions
- Look at other housing options
We will write to you every 6 months to ask whether or not you wish to remain on the list.
Other information required
You will go on to our housing register once we have:
- Satisfactory references
- Proof of ID and address, National Insurance number
- Carried out a property inspection (for existing tenants)
- Checked you are not on the Rehousing Review List (RRL)
Already a Willow Park tenant?
We will visit you at home to discuss your application. We will also carry out an inspection to check the condition of your property. If you have not looked after your home, or have carried out unauthorised alterations, we may not be able to consider your application until you have put things right. If you owe rent, or we have taken legal action against you for a breach of tenancy, we may not be able to consider your application. Your Housing Officer will advise you of this at the time of registration.
Applying for other areas
The Trust is a partner in the Manchester Housing Register which means you can apply to live in Willow Park and other areas within Manchester. You need only complete one application form - we will ensure that your application is registered for all the areas you want to be considered for.
