How Homes Are Allocated

We have a housing register and a transfer scheme for people who want to get a new home.  New homes normally go to people who need them most or who have been waiting longest.

Allocating homes

We have an agreement with Manchester City Council that half of our empty properties are let by nomination from their waiting list. To review properties and services available from the Council visit the Manchester Move website. We also let half of our properties directly from our own waiting list.

Choice based lettings

We allocate our homes through a choice based lettings process where applicants with the highest priority have the opportunity to express an interest in a property that is available to let.

We will invite the top placed people on the waiting list to express an interest in a vacant property. We will then offer the property to the person who has the highest priority of those who expressed an interest.

Expressing interest

When you have been invited to express an interest in a particular property, you can contact us by calling in at our offices or by telephoning us on 0800 633 5500.

It is your choice whether or not to express an interest in a property. If you choose not to, you will be given other opportunities to express an interest in other properties. You may also receive invitations to express interest in several properties at a time. There is no limit to the number of properties in which you may express an interest.
