Willow Park Housing Trust has been awarded the Disability Symbol by the Employment Service in recognition of its commitment to the employment of disabled people.
Organisations who display the symbol are large and small employers from both the private and public sectors but all have promised to make the following commitments:
- * To interview all disabled job applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job vacancy and consider them on their abilities
* To ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss, at any time, but at least once a year, with disabled employees what you can do to make sure they can develop and use their abilities to the full
* To make every effort to help disabled employees stay in employment
* To take action to ensure an appropriate level of awareness around disability issues
* To review these commitments every year, looking at what has been achieved and setting plans for the following year
As part of our Equality and Diversity Policy Willow Park Housing Trust offer the following facilities to staff and members of the public: Application forms are available in a variety of formats, e.g. larger print/braille/audio tape.
We also have staff trained in the use of the Minicom system.
