Future investment

The Trust will be investing a further £40 million over the next 5 years to make sure that Willow Park tenants have decent homes for a long time to come.

Joe Doherty, Chief Executive of the Trust, explains; “The Decent Homes Standard was introduced by the Government in 2001 to provide minimum standards which all registered housing providers have to meet by the end of 2010. It was to make sure that all tenants live in homes that are warm, weatherproof and have modern facilities.”

Eddy Newman, Chair, said; “Willow Park was created to transform and modernise homes, especially as most of its properties are over 50 years old. Over 40,000 improvements have been made to achieve Decent Homes Standard in our area and to make sure that our tenants live in homes that are fit for the 21st Century.”

I have been delighted with my new bathroom and kitchen. I’ve lived here since the house was built over 59 years ago and it was ready for these modernisations.  Willow Park and their staff have been a breath of fresh air and I am delighted with the improvements to my home.”
