The “Hollyhedge hoedown” took place in Hollyhedge Park yesterday. The hoedown was a Wythenshawe Youth Arts Network event supported by Manchester City Council. It was a great success in spite of the weather.
Fun activities for kids
There were lots of activities for children; a bouncy castle and slide, Go-Karting, tin can alley, arts and craft making stall, hook a duck or they could even try their hand at circus skills.
Willow Park Housing Trust had a stand and gave out freebies to the kids. You could also pick up an application for Wythenshawe’s Got Talent.
The most popular event had to be the K9-2000 dog display team which had dogs jumping through hoops of fire! Go-Karting was a very busy activity which had a small track for the children to go round. Then there was the Artizani Street Theatre, they put on a great performance which had people glued to their seats.
