‘Wythenshawe Together’ will be a celebration of local community spirit on Saturday 2nd June to help mark Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years on the throne. There will be something for everyone and the event will be supported by both Parkway Green and Willow Park Housing Trusts. But the organisers need your help!
At the moment they need volunteers to get involved - whether it’s helping to fundraise, organise prizes for the tombola or even run a Punch & Judy stall on the day. Residents groups from across Wythenshawe are also coming together to help, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with the organisers to find out about how you can get involved.
The next meeting takes place on Thursday 9th February at Willow Park House, Poundswick Lane and all are welcome.
One of the organisers, Jackie, said: “This is going to be a fantastic event for the local area and there will be something for all ages. We need people to get involved so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to find out more.”
Chairperson of Wythenshawe Together, Pat Higson, said: “We’re expecting record numbers of visitors on the extended bank holiday weekend and want to provide a full day of fun and enjoyment for Wythenshawe and the surrounding areas so please come and get involved in this community celebration.”
There is also a fundraiser for the event taking place at Greenbrow Social Club on Friday 2nd March. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress as well as a buffet supper, disco, raffle and live auction. Tickets are on sale for Ł5 in advance or Ł6 on the night with all money going towards the event.
