  • We comply with the Disability Discrimination Act with all our buildings
  • A range of contact methods are available including: Letter, Fax, E-mail, Telephone, Minicom ,Text or in person
  • Home visits are available where customers are currently unable to access our offices

Tactile method of reading and writing using raised dots to enable a person to read with their fingertips, those who may benefit from using this format include:

  • People with sight impairments who prefer an alternative to audio tape
  • People with sight and hearing impairments

Induction Loops

Amplifies sound and reduces background noise. It works by either placing a coil of wire around a room or by an infrared system and can be either permanently installed or portable

Please note:

  • Hearing Aids need to be switched to the ‘T’ setting to receive transmission
  • Who may benefit from using this format: – People with hearing impairments who use hearing aids
  • Please note are staff can also provide mobile loop systems on home visits

Large Print

Involves producing information in a larger font, those who may benefit from using this format include:

  • Older people, people with sight impairments and people with learning disability.

Audio transcription

Providing text in a spoken format which is recorded by readers onto CDs

Those who may benefit from using this format include:

  • People with sight impairments
  • People whose spoken language is different to their written one
  • People with learning disability
  • People with dyslexia
  • Those who would like an alternative to Braille and prefer to access information on tape

Translation and Interpreting

A Translator works with written material, translating documents from one language to another. An Interpreter works ‘in person’ orally interpreting back and forth between two or more individuals.

Those who may benefit from using this format include:

  • People whose first language is not English
