Willow Park was set up in 1999 with the transfer of 6600 homes from Manchester City Council in East Wythenshawe. A further 2300 homes in Woodhouse Park and Moss Nook were transferred in 2004, and in January 2009 120 homes in Woodhouse Park were transferred from Guinness Northern Counties.
The Trust is a Registered Provider, a not-for-profit company and a charity. The Board is made up of Tenant, City Council and Independent Voluntary Directors.
Willow Park has invested in excess of £220m in improving homes and the environment, developing new homes and open spaces, and providing new community facilities. Willow Park is a key partner in neighbourhood renewal, involved in a wide range of economic, physical and community regeneration programmes, with tenants and residents at the heart of planning and decision making.
This group structure has created a combined stock of almost 14,000 properties, providing homes to more than 20,000 people across Wythenshawe, Manchester and a projected annual turnover of £61 million per year.
The new organisation has built on the existing strengths of both companies and will enable the preservation of high quality community services and continued investment in the local area.
